Facts

Whisky has flowed from the beachside distillery on the Isle of Jura since 1810. On a wild Scottish island where red deer outnumber people. The sea sits right outside the warehouse doors, and you can almost taste it. This ten-year-old single malt leans malty and fruity. With a gentle smoky thread and a curl of dark chocolate underneath. It feels rounded and easygoing rather than fierce. There is a faint coastal edge, a touch of spice, then a warm finish. Pour it neat and let the island character settle in slowly. It rewards a patient sip.

Jura

Jura is a distillery located on the Isle of Jura, off the west coast of Scotland. It was founded in 1810, but ceased production in the 1900s. In 1963, it was rebuilt and reopened, and has been producing whisky ever since. The distillery produces a range of single malt whiskies, including the Jura 10 Year Old, Jura 16 Year Old, and Jura 21 Year Old. These whiskies are aged in a variety of casks, including ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, giving them a range of flavors and aromas. Jura uses locally sourced barley and water from the nearby Loch a'Bhaile-Mhargaidh in its whisky production. The distillery has its own malting floor and still house, allowing for complete control over the production process.

About the Jura 10 years Isle of

Jura 10 years Isle of is a single malt Scotch whisky from a remote island off Scotland. The west coast setting shapes its character. The Jura distillery has stood beside the shore in the Island region since 1810. And it remains the heart of this tiny community. The island is famous for wild red deer that far outnumber its people. That sense of space and isolation shapes everything the distillery makes here. This ten-year-old expression is the kind of single malt Scotch you reach for again and again. The first taste is malty and softly fruity, with orchard sweetness and a light coastal lift. A gentle smoky note drifts underneath, never sharp or harsh. There is a thread of dark chocolate too, rich and rounded. Together they make a whisky that feels welcoming rather than challenging. The Jura distillery uses tall stills that give the spirit a lighter, more elegant body. That style sets it apart from the heavier, peat-driven malts of nearby islands. Maturing for ten years in oak casks adds warmth and a quiet layer of spice. The result is balanced and easy to follow. It is a fine introduction to island whisky for newcomers and old hands alike. On the palate, Jura 10 years Isle of opens with malt and ripe fruit. A whisper of smoke and a hint of dark chocolate carry it toward a warm, mellow finish. The famous Jura character shows in its calm, coastal poise. Drink it neat to let the flavours unfold at their own pace. Each sip carries a little of the island with it. Few whiskies wear their origin so clearly. From a single distillery on a windswept Scottish island, this ten-year-old single malt offers honest, approachable character. It suits quiet evenings and slow conversation. If you want a true taste of the Hebrides, start here.
