Nc'Nean

On the remote Morvern peninsula on the west coast of Scotland's Highland region, Annabel Thomas built Nc'Nean from scratch. Production began in 2017, and the first whisky arrived in 2020. It is one of very few Scottish distilleries founded and led by a woman. The spirit is unpeated and made entirely from organic Scottish barley. Long mashing, slow fermentation and some unusual yeasts give it a fruity, elegant character of citrus, peach and apricot. Even the bottles are 100% recycled glass. Sustainability sits at the core of everything here. Nc'Nean became the UK's first whisky distillery to verify net zero carbon emissions from its own operations. Its stills run on renewable energy, and it holds B Corp certification too.
