Very little leaves the place, so each release feels personal. That patient, low-volume approach is exactly why collectors chase these bottles. Edradour 15 years The Fairy Flag rewards that curiosity. The maturation tells its own story. Spirit rests first in bourbon wood for roughly eight years. It then moves into a fresh oloroso sherry cask for the final stretch. This second cask layers richer, darker notes over a soft and malty base. The two styles meet in the middle, neither one shouting over the other. In the glass you meet dried fruit, cocoa and dark chocolate. A gentle coconut and vanilla sweetness rounds things out. A green, floral hint of pine needles sits on top. The wood gives a light, oaky grip without turning harsh. The finish drifts between sweet cream and slightly bitter cocoa. A faint nuttiness lingers right at the end.
