Glenmorangie spent eight years filling this spirit into ex-bourbon barrels before moving it on. The whisky then rested another four years in old Cognac casks. Those casks had been used several times already. That gentle handling lets the fruit lead instead of the wood. You get dried apricot, orange and a soft thread of honey. Almond and a little spice sit underneath. It is a small batch bottling, first released back in 2021. Pour it neat and it opens slowly. The malt stays clear and bright the whole way through, with vanilla rounding off the finish.
