M&H
A group of friends launched M&H in southern Tel Aviv, Israel, building the country's first single malt whisky distillery. They started planning in 2012, and spirit was flowing by 2013. The name nods to the biblical land of milk and honey. Israel's warm Mediterranean climate does something unusual here. Casks breathe faster in the heat, so the whisky matures quickly and gains real depth in just a few years. Every bottling is also certified Kosher, which sets M&H apart on the global shelf. The approach has paid off handsomely. In 2023 its Elements Sherry Cask was named Best Single Malt Whisky in the world at the World Whiskies Awards. For a distillery barely a decade old, in a country with no whisky tradition, that is a remarkable arrival.
