King Car Group built this distillery in Yilan. The first spirit ran in 2006 with help from the late Dr. Jim Swan. The warehouses have no air conditioning. Taiwan's heat and humidity push the whisky hard, so it ages fast. Two years here can behave like a decade in Scotland. This single cask spends its whole life in a Portuguese Port barrique. The result is deeply fruity. Think ripe grape and orange, brown sugar and a warm prickle of pepper and spice. It is bottled straight from one cask at full strength, nothing held back.
