Glenturret is a single malt Scotch whisky made deep in the Highland glens near Crieff. The Glenturret distillery dates back to 1763, which makes it Scotland's oldest working whisky distillery. The distillery sits on the banks of the Turret River in Perthshire. Production here stays close to its roots. The mash is still stirred by hand with a wooden paddle known as a rouser. That hands-on method gives the team real control over each batch of spirit. Two small stills work slowly at Glenturret, among the smallest in the Highland region. The long fermentation and gentle distillation build a light, malty new-make spirit. Decades of careful cask work then shape it into the whisky in the bottle. In the glass this Highland single malt leans bright and approachable. Expect crisp apple and a touch of orange peel up front. Soft vanilla and a malty sweetness follow, with a clean, floral lift on the finish. There is a honeyed note underneath that keeps it rounded. The body is light but never thin or weak.
