In the early 1990s, Glenmorangie's distillers filled a batch of oak casks cut from trees in Missouri's Ozark Mountains. The wood had never held whisky before. Nobody knew how the spirit would turn out. Years later, the answer arrived as Ealanta, a name borrowed from Scots Gaelic meaning skilled and ingenious.
