James Allardice secured the license in 1826, among the earliest granted under Scotland's new Excise Act. That founding date is exactly what this anniversary bottling celebrates. Sherry cask maturation has defined Glendronach since those early years. This release leans into raisins and sultanas, with dried fruit and rich caramel beneath. It is bottled at 40% ABV, the distillery's traditional strength for its core range. Glendronach sits near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, in the Highland region of Scotland. James Allardice's 1826 license was among the first granted after Scotland's Excise Act came into force. The name comes from Gaelic and means valley of the brambles. William Teacher and Sons later expanded the site from two stills to six. Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks are still shipped in from bodegas in Andalucia today.
