Elijah Craig Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon whisky from Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, United States. The brand carries the name of the Baptist minister credited as the Father of Bourbon. He first charred oak barrels to create bourbon's distinctive character in 1789. Heaven Hill has remained family-owned for over 81 years. The team crafts Elijah Craig Small Batch from carefully selected barrels aged between eight and twelve years. Each batch uses no more than 200 barrels. The mashbill combines 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley. All spirit matures in Level 3 charred new American oak. Baked apples and banana notes greet the nose. The palate reveals layers of caramel and butterscotch sweetness. Brown sugar and honey blend with chocolate undertones. Cinnamon spice and cardamom warmth build through the mid-palate. Cherry fruit and corn grain character add depth. Subtle earthy and floral elements support the finish. The charred oak influence defines the closing notes. Grain and hay undertones linger alongside buttery richness. Dried fruit and fresh fruit notes appear in quieter moments. The 47% ABV gives the bourbon presence without harsh alcohol burn. Pepper and leather hints add a final savoury edge. Elijah Craig Small Batch drinks beautifully neat. Bourbon lovers who want depth without paying an age statement premium will find plenty to admire here. Its full complexity unfolds without distraction. This 94-proof bourbon represents excellent value among premium American whiskies. The craftsmanship of a respected Kentucky distillery shows in every pour.
